A Grand Christmas

A Grand Christmas premiered at the stunning heritage-listed Grand on Ann in Brisbane during the 2024 Christmas season. Created as a full-length family production, the show explores the history, traditions and stories of Christmas through aerial artistry, dance, acrobatics, roller-skating, contemporary circus and flow arts, singing, live music and storytelling.

Each part of the production explores a different aspect of Christmas, drawing from traditions and stories across different cultures and periods of history. From the origins of winter celebrations and familiar Christmas symbols to childhood nostalgia, family traditions and some of the more unusual stories associated with the season, these stories are brought to life through performance, music and storytelling.

The original production was created specifically for Grand on Ann and incorporated the venue's traverse layout, with a central performance area and the audience seated on two opposing sides. Performers entered from both sides of the venue, with aerial performance at one end and the venue's existing raised area incorporated as an additional performance space. The production can be adapted for future venues while retaining the original concept and structure of the show.
